  • AC Motors  ( 15 items )

An AC Motor is an electric motor that is driven by an alternating current. It consists of two basic parts, an outside stationary stator having coils supplied with AC current to produce a rotating magnetic field, and an inside rotor attached to the output shaft that is given a torque by the rotating field. There are two types of AC motors, depending on the type of rotor used. The first is the synchronous motor, which rotates exactly at the supply frequency or a submultiple of the supply frequency. The magnetic field on the rotor is either due to current transported with slip rings or a permanent magnet. The second type is the induction motor, which turns slightly slower than the supply frequency. The magnetic field on the rotor of this motor is created by an induced current.

  • AC Drives  ( 2 items )

AC Drives allow for full control interfacing to AC motors. These units regulate the voltage, frequency and power levels to the motor enabling control of the motors speed and torque. Typical applications for AC Drives are HVAC fan and blower control, Pump and conveyor speed control.

Selecting an AC drive requires an analysis of the application and selection should be done via an application specialist to avoid incorrect selection. If you are specifying an application where the motor is close it’s full load rating you should select a drive that is slightly bigger than the motor so that the drive runs cooler and gives you the ability to increase your motor size without you having to rewire your controls.

  • DC Motors  ( 11 items )

An electric motor uses electrical energy to produce mechanical energy. The reverse process, that of using mechanical energy to produce electrical energy, is accomplished by a generator or dynamo. Traction motors used on locomotives often perform both tasks if the locomotive is equipped with dynamic brakes. Electric motors are found in household appliances such as fans, refrigerators, washing machines, pool pumps, floor vacuums, and fan-forced ovens.

  • PLC  ( 1 items )

A programmable logic controller (PLC), or programmable controller is a digital computer used for automation of industrial processes, such as control of machinery on factory assembly lines. Unlike general-purpose computers, the PLC is designed for multiple inputs and output arrangements, extended temperature ranges, immunity to electrical noise, and resistance to vibration and impact. Programs to control machine operation are typically stored in battery-backed or non-volatile memory. A PLC is an example of a real time system since output results must be produced in response to input conditions within a bounded time, otherwise unintended operation will result.

  • Submersible Sump And Sewage Pumps  ( 4 items )

A submersible pump is a pump which has a hermetically sealed motor close-coupled to the pump body. The whole assembly is submerged in the fluid to be pumped. The advantage of this type of pump is that it can provide a significant lifting force as it does not rely on external air pressure to lift the fluid.

  • Transformers  ( 12 items )

A transformer is a device that transfers electrical energy from one circuit to another through inductively coupled electrical conductors. A changing current in the first circuit (the primary) creates a changing magnetic field; in turn, this magnetic field induces a changing voltage in the second circuit (the secondary). By adding a load to the secondary circuit, one can make current flow in the transformer, thus transferring energy from one circuit to the other.

  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)  ( 4 items )

A Variable Frequency Drive ( VFD) is a control system that controls the rotational speed of an AC Motor through the variation of the frequency of the electrical power supplied to the motor. Variable frequency drives are also known as AC drives ,adjustable frequency drives (AFD), inverter drives, variable speed drives (VSD) or inverter drives.
